Flight Notes

Return to Home Works Best with Good Setup

HS790 supports Smart RTH, Failsafe RTH, and Low Voltage RTH to help the drone return to the recorded home point when conditions are suitable.

Return to Home requires strong GPS signal, a recorded home point, and proper compass calibration. RTH does not avoid obstacles, so always fly in open areas and keep the drone within visual line of sight.

Calibrate First

Complete compass calibration and wait for strong GPS before takeoff in outdoor areas.

Fly Open Areas

Avoid trees, buildings, power lines, glass, crowds, and magnetic interference sources.

Watch the Battery

Land when the battery is low and do not rely on RTH as a replacement for active piloting.

Keep Visual Line of Sight

Long-range capability should still be used responsibly within local rules and safe flight conditions.

HS790, Your Step-up Aerial Partner FAQ

Troubleshooting

Why won’t the motors start or unlock?

The drone may not have sufficient GPS signal or is being used indoors, which prevents motor unlocking in GPS mode.

Move to an open outdoor area and wait until the app shows “Ready to fly.” Indoor flight requires switching to ATTI mode.

Compass interference or ongoing calibration may also block unlocking.

Recalibrate the compass in an open area away from metal objects, vehicles, or power lines.

Why is the gimbal not working or stabilizing?

The gimbal cover may still be attached or the drone is not placed on a level surface.

Remove the gimbal cover before powering on and place the drone on a flat surface during startup.

Calibration processes may temporarily disable gimbal movement.

Wait until initialization is complete or perform gyro calibration if needed.

Why is the drone drifting or flying unstably?

Weak GPS signal, compass interference, or damaged propellers may affect flight stability.

Fly in open areas and avoid interference sources such as buildings or power lines.

The optical flow system may also be affected by lighting or surface texture.

Ensure adequate lighting and avoid reflective or textureless surfaces during flight.

Why is the live video feed lagging or the range limited?

Signal interference, incorrect antenna direction, or long distance may reduce transmission quality.

Keep the flat side of the transmitter antennas facing the drone and maintain a clear line of sight.

Mobile device performance may also impact video smoothness.

Close background apps and avoid aggressive control inputs during flight.

Why can’t the app connect or display live view?

The connection sequence may be incorrect or the cable is not properly connected.

Power on the transmitter first, then the drone, reconnect the cable, and reopen the app.

System permissions may block the connection.

Enable all required permissions in the app and confirm device authorization (e.g., “Trust” on iPhone).

Why doesn’t Return-to-Home (RTH) work properly?

RTH requires a strong GPS signal, a recorded Home Point, and no compass interference.

Wait until the drone shows “Ready to fly” and confirms the Home Point before takeoff.

RTH will not function correctly in weak GPS conditions and does not avoid obstacles.

Always monitor surroundings and avoid flying in complex environments during return.

Why is the battery not charging or charging slowly?

Charging may fail if the battery is too hot after flight or if a non-original cable is used.

Allow the battery to cool down before charging and use the original USB cable or a compatible adapter.

Charging time varies depending on the power source.

Fast charging can take approximately 110 minutes under optimal conditions.
