Best in its class for the price.

For its Price, this drone is hands down at the top of its class. This is not a beginners drone. It does take some time to do the pre-flight set up, but after that it is amazing and flies like drones twice it's price.
If you are looking for a next level drone in a economy price point, this is the one for you.

A mavic mini light

The ONLY problem I have with this drone is its range, and that could just be because my expectations are too high. I was able to take it 200 meters out before I got the glitch in my live stream. The camera adjusts so frigging smooth. As one of the first people to have this drone I'm have no problem rating it a 5 out of 5. If you have some experience like my self have some fun and mess around with the band switches!

Great Compact Drone Kit

Great compact drone. If you are looking for a compact drone, with excellent control and stability, this fits the bill. I was surprised how well it handled in windy conditions, and was able to maintain its position. I really enjoy this drone.

Very Compact yet powerful

Great Drone. easily 20 min of run time on each or 2 batteries. Fold away blades are more forgiving when you hit objects ( I fly without the guards ). When folded up it is about the size of your hand. Pretty good in wind as well.

This little guy is awesome. It's portability is perfect to travel with you and catch the shots you may otherwise miss because you don't want to carry around a bulky drone. The HS 175 was able to handle wind surprisingly well for a drone of this size. The Return to Home function is also a must have for low battery and out of range situations.
The HS175 is perfect for novice flyers as well as photographers looking to add a portable drone to their bag of tricks.

Very Light, Compact Drone with GPS

5

Mr. Richard R. Davidson

I had an opportunity to fly my HS175 drone for the first time today. It is a very compact, foldable drone. It is very light. The drone comes with a very nice case that holds everything. There are two batteries each with its own USB charger. The transmitter is also rechargeable, and it has its own USB charger as well. There are extra propellers, and propeller guards.

It is easy to perform preflight with the GPS and with gyro calibration. There is a one-button take-off and landing, and Return to Home. On the front-end, there are photo and video buttons on the left and buttons to control camera direction on the right. Camera can go from 0 to 90 degrees. Video can be viewed on an iOS or Android. I use iOS, so the app is HS GPS V5 (iOS) for Apple. Photos and video are stored in the app. A TF (microSD) card can also be used up to 64 GB. What I found using a TF card is that photos are stored within the app as well as the TF card. However, videos are only stored on the TF card. If no TF card, then photos and videos are stored within the app photo storage folder.

Flying the drone is as much fun as most drones. Overall, it is fairly stable, but I noticed that it is a little shaky in slightly windy conditions. It was less shaky when the wind quit blowing. I assume this is because this drone is very light. It only weighs 198 grams, so it does not require FAA registration. I found that the photo resolution and video resolution were adequate for this small of a drone. The drone does not have obstacle avoidance, but it does have a sensor on the bottom that is supposed to help with more precise landings. However, I did not find this to be the case on my initial flight. I used a portable fabric helipad for take-off, but on landing, it missed the mark, and I manually landed on the pad. To be fair, it was a cloudy day, and there was something in the instructions that mentioned lighting and contrast, so I need to retest this on a clear, sunny day. Several features within the app include distance from drone, altitude, orbit, follow-me, and optical positioning, which I have not had a chance to test. I found the controls to be a little "touchy", so need to make fine movements with the controls to adjust direction and altitude.

This is a very nice drone for the price with GPS. It is compact, and it would be very easy to carry on hikes, vacations, the beach, etc. It is a very fun drone to fly for not a large amount of money. This would be a good starter drone if compactness is desired.
