Flew well. Issue with the app recognizing the remote control level of battery

We tested it 2 times and it flew well on both times. We just had a little issue. On the second time, before flying the drone, the app informed that the remote control was with no battery (but it was charged). After fully recharging the remote control the problem remained. After about 5 minutes insisting on trying to fly the drone (holy stone hs100) we made it because the app finally recognized the battery was full. Another thing: the material which the drone is made of is not the best quality. It could be a bit more resistant. The remote control looks like a cheap toy. But the drone is working well despite the battery recognition by the app.

Economic Entry Level Drone

This is a fantastic entry level drone. I have piloted tons of RC aircraft into trees over the years (including this one), and the HS100 is the easiest aircraft I've ever flown (this time avoiding the trees). I was instantly impressed with how well it maintained position even with 8-10 mph winds. The auto-launch/land is a handy function to prevent damage to the drone. The picture quality is not bad, I was able to take moving pictures from about 30 ft in the air while moving at a decent resolution. While maneuvering at fast speeds the video becomes a little choppy but that is kind of expected.

I generally impressed with this drone, but it does have its flaws. The battery charge time is 5 hrs and the flight time is 15 minutes max. This makes extra batteries a major necessity. A personal issue I have with this drone is limited portability. The propellers mount to the motors using a microscopic screw and cap. This limits my desire to take it places in fear of losing the prop screws. As of right now, I just leave the propellers on and hope I don't break a prop in transit.

There's a chance it's my phone, but I noticed the video feedback is laggy and difficult to pilot with updates every 3 seconds. Also if the feed lags it saves lagged (notice the jump in the footage skips).

Overall, Holy Stone has constructed a nice piece of tech, and I would happily recommend this drone to anyone.

Got a really good lightning deal on this drone, I'm usually a Bugs 2c/w user so I couldn't pass up this drone ..... For the propeller installation you need to insert a copper washer then a plastic locking washer with a small Phillips screw that needs to thread through the prop spindle, and lastly put on the cap....with the BUGS all you need is to unscrew the locking nut to remove the propeller and reverse to install

This is not a small drone so you need to register with the FAA,

I like the ability to adjust the camera gimbal

Camera quality looks like it's going through a polarized lens, it's ok but it does darken the overall quality of the pictures and videos

Flying speed is adjustable slow for video and picture taking, and fast to fly for fun

Return to home works well, I never flew this drone higher than 200ft, and 300ft away

The android app is nice, I like the log feature
Detailed information on screen height/speed/distance and GPS....you get a bar graph for GPS.... other brands tell you how many satellites you are synchronized with. When you are filming you get an annoying beep

Flying time is around 12 minutes, battery charging time is over 3 hours....get a spare if this is your only drone

Has the ability to follow me, didn't try it but I have to admit one of the main reasons I did buy this drone, besides cost I got this on a lightning deal and Holy Stone was offering $30 off which equaled $100 off the drone, The drone cost $179 after Lightning Deal/Coupon

My 4 stars is only because this was my first real drone I ordered two extra batteries for more air time plugged them all in USB ports to charge and one battery never finished when others did and after careful inspection I notice this battery looked a little swelled I cannot say for certain if it was battery that came with drone or extra one purchased but delivery was fine just upset I only have two batteries With that being say I love this thing by far the best drone in its class

So far, so good. I was debating between this and splurging on a Phantom 3 Advanced. This one had good reviews, and it was much less expensive. I'm still pretty new to flying, so I figured if I break one I would rather break a less expensive one. The GPS is super handy for maintaining a hover and flying in wind. The camera is very sufficient for my level of use. A full gimbal would be nice, but that comes with more expensive models. You get what you pay for. The controls are easy to learn, including the ones for pivoting the camera, managing recording and picture taking. I REALLY like the App. It is very cool to watch the camera feed while flying, and the status indicators on the app are much easier to see than the indicator lights on the controls. I did buy a two-pack of batteries, which was offered at a discount on Amazon at the time of purchase. The flight time goes by fast, especially if there is a little bit of wind and the motors have to work harder. A max of 15 minute flight time and a 3-6 hour recharge time for the batteries is kind of a bummer. I have a total of three batteries, so it isn't as bad of a wait. I also purchased the spare parts pack. So far, the only thing I have damaged are the rotor guards, but I suppose that is their purpose. Better to damage a guard than a rotor and motor.

So to summarize, I think it was worth the money. If you buy this, do yourself a favor and get at least one extra battery.

Absolutely awesome!!I purchased this drone. I have never flew anything in my life!!! I bought this for photography and really hasn’t disappointed. I can’t wsit to master the flying the drone! The possibilities are endless. However as I was assembling my four year old son pounced on the camera and turned it. Happened so fast! It’s not making the camera sound now just a terrible clicking sound and I cannot rotate the camera when it’s flying. If you can please Tell me where I can get this fixed I really appreciate it. beautiful awesome everything I expected I just want my camera fixed because I’m using it for photography and video. If you could help me out and know a place in the Columbus Ohio area where I can get this fixed I appreciate it and I’ll bump my four stars to five stars. I would assemble it when nobody’s around but that’s impossible I got two kids and life . Thanks! Beautiful
